National Memorial
The National Memorial at savar is a symbol of the nation's respect for the martyr's of the war of liberation.It stands 150 feet tall.Most prominently visible is the 150 feet tower that stands on a base measuring 130 feet wide.There is actually a series of 7 towers that rise by stages to a height of 150 feet.The entire complex will cover an area of 126 acres.The plan of this complex includes a mosque,a library and a museum.the relics of the liberation war will be kept in the museum.

Taj Mahal is another attractive place for Dhaka city.Tajmahal located 18 miles northest of the Bangladeshi capital Dhaka.Work on the building took 5 years and reportedly cost is USD $58 million.Its marble imported from Italy,diamonds from Belgium and some 160 kilograms of bronze for the domes

Sangsad Bhaban
The Sangsad Bhaban (Parliament House) at Sher-E-Bangla Nagar in Dhaka is a wonder of modern architecture and technology.It is one of the largest and most spectacular parliament buildings in the world.Originally designed by the famous American architect Louis I Kahn,this 155 ft high 9-storey buildings is surrounded by an artificial lake called the Cresent Lake.The main section is hidden behind a strong outer covering with circular and triangular openings.The structure has 1605 doors,335 windows,365 ventilators and corridors totalling to a bewildering length of 41.6 km.One could easily get lost in these deceptive corridors.The house has 354 seats forMPs,56 for guests,40 for journalists and 430 for spectators.It has also three party rooms each of which can seat 153 people.The whole place is airconditioned and includes all modern amenities.Although construction work on this structure started in 1964,it was finally inaugurated in 1982 and the first parliamentary session was held on 15 February the same year.Being a highly complex structure,its annual maintenance cost is about 50 million taka.This is truely a wonder for a poor country like Bangladesh.
